As
we stated on the previous page, The Tile Master is an awesome press but,
while you may want to do tiles, you may not need that much efficiency or ability. This
page provides an overview of two other George Knight heat presses that are excellent
for sublimating tiles and other substrates (substrate is a generic word that refers
to any item that can be sublimated). Important
- Please note that the "2-Tray" production system used by The Tile Master
is not available for these presses. The Heat Resistant Rubber on the below presses
is permanently attached to the lower platen. Like
The Tile Master, these two presses are in stock and ready for immediate
shipping.

Knight DK20S - 16"x 20"Swing
Away Heat Press |
While
not in the same class as The Tile Master, the DK20S is a powerful 16x20
swing away heat press that will provide many years of dependable and efficient
service. While
the 16x20 heater head size is large enough to accommodate 6- 6x6 tiles at a time,
we suggest that only 4 tiles at a time be heated with the press, for the most
consistent results. The
reason for this is because of heating efficiency. The DK20S heater block thickness
is a standard .75". The heater block thickness of The Tile Master is
1.1". This extra thickness creates the all-important additional heat reservoir
(discussed earlier in your tour). When
sublimating tiles, a large heat reservoir produces more even and consistent transferring.
Some, however, do attempt to transfer onto 6 tiles at a time and accept that tiles
may frequently need to be redone. The choice is yours. The
DK20S is an excellent heat press, with many "happy camper" owners. We
would definitely consider this press if we wanted maximum size and power but less
initial investment cost than The Tile Master. Click

Combo
DC16 - 14"x
16"Swing
Away Heat Press
The
DC16 is a very efficient and useful press if you want to produce some tiles and
have maximum versatility in producing many other sublimated items. |
While
the press efficiently sublimates tiles, we suggest attempting to sublimate no
more than 3- 6x6 tiles at a time. This
is probably one of the most versatile swing away heat presses in the world. The
unusual design is a big plus for many different types of production, while the
14x16 table size is sufficient for most jobs. The
lower table (called a platen) is mounted on a plasma cut, 9" solid steel
support table. This unique feature provides three benefits. - The
elevated table allows bulky items like thick jackets to be draped over the platen,
so that collars, shoulder pads and sleeves are out of the way. This keeps the
garment from tending to bunch up and wrinkle the area under the press.
- The
lower platen has a quick-release system so that an optional smaller table (ranging
in size from 12x14 to 3x3) can be attached. This is very handy when dealing with
products where you only want the heat to touch a small area.
- The
DC16 is also called the "Digital Combo" because the entire upper heat
platen is also detachable, in addition to the lower platen. This allows optional
attachments like a ceramic plate and ball cap attachment to be used.
Worldwide,
many thousands of owners are enjoying the benefits of the DC16. This is the press
for you, if you are going to do some tiles but need more multipurpose benefits.
